Default How Many Hours Guesstimate?

One project I know I will not take on is body/paint work... I'll need basic 35 yr old fiberglass repair /touch up. No major body damage. Just the usual chips and such..original paint stripped and then whatever else and repainted..
Local recommended shop says $50 for paint/hr and $30 for materials/ hr..
How many hrs would you folks estimate this take for stripping, some fiberglass work, misc materials and paint?
Just looking for a ball park figure so I know what I need to start saving.

For a basic job with no body damage, it's 80 hours plus $1200 in materials. Colorado rates run about $45/hour, so that's $3600 plus $1200 = $4800 for an entry-level job. I start my jobs at a bottom-end price of $6500.

Thanks guys.. With all the $ I've saved doing almost all my own labor so far, I don't want to screw up the cosmetics.
I should have her back on the road again this weekend...minus new headers and new tires which should be next months to-do.. I think my wife is sick of not being able to use the garage.
Then I'm just down to doing cosmetic issues so I have to make a new project list for interior /exterior.

One of these days when I win the lottery and can afford to do what I want with my car, I'm bringing it to you! I've seen pics of your work and it is marvelous.

I did all my own prep work, including primer surface with PPG products. The primer was sprayed on outdoors, then wet sanded. When i got the car (plus miscellaneous pieces) to my local Vette paint shop, they told me the prep job was as good as they would have done, so they just masked and painted. 3 coats of color plus 2 coats of clear, (no color sanding between coats) cost me $2300.

My hours as a non- professional, meticulous? Probably 100.
