hmmm.... not sure but it looks like you need a small screw with a big head (c'mon, stay focused) and insert it through the big oval hole and screw in into the little hole on the bracket. That would give some room to adjust the moving part and then tighten when it's in the right spot. I hope that made sense.

Whoa... this is tuff. If you cat figure out when you have it in your hands, how are we supposed to do it by looking at a picture?

Ok, it's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like there is a little fork looking thing on the bracket. In the third picture you have the metal cup thingy in the right side of the fork, move the cup to the left side. It looks like that will hold that side of the spring and the screw will hold the other side. (yeah, I'm pretty sure I know how it goes together but its really hard to describe with words)

I got slammed with a pretty hefty phone bill so I havent been able to get an air cleaner on yet (need to buy a new one)

just saw the pic.. I put it in wrong ugh.. I'll deal with it tomorrow.

I'm sure I can try to steal my old base back from my dad's car. see if I can get the K&N to fit on it.. if not I'll have to get a 2.75" filter and hope for the best
