Default Tire Pressure?
Hi Guys

I set the tire pressure to 20 psi as it says on the door post.

Is that OK for modern tires?

I am running P255-60-15's on stock wheels

for modern tires - 30 - 35 psi is usually the normal pressure range.. 20 psi is too low!

That original 20 psi must have been a mistake from the start. The cars were running around with a bulge on the bottom like they were half flat. If you're now running radials, you should use about 35 psi and monitor the wear pattern to see if adjustment is necessary.

I have a nice clean/even wear pattern with 32psi cold. That will go to 35-36 with the heat this time of year.

I use 38 psi cold on 255/50-16 tires. So 30-35 is probably good for your thicker sidewalls.

Look at the side of the tire for the manuf. recommended pressure.
