I've been running my rather stock (numbers matching) small block in my '79 Vette for way too long. I'm planning to shelf the original block in favor of a big block. I'd like to go with a 454 and know it will be a fun project. Parts will flying everywhere here. My main concern, if I make this change-over from 350 to 454, will my TH350 transmission with my TCI Streetfighter converter be ok? I've already started my shoppping list for the things I'm gonna have to pick-up over the next 9 months. I just love having a kewl project on the go.
I am running a Big Block 454 in my Pace Car Replica. I'm also useing a Street Fighter TH400 from TCI, and their Break-Away stall speed converter. Very good combo for me.

I don't know if it was in Super Chevy or Hot Rod magazines but I've seen some pretty fast cars using TH350's. I'm talking 10 second cars here. An engine shop said the 400 will handle 1000+ hp but I don't know the numbers on the 350. My guess is you'll be okay.
