Startup Problem With My '82

I went home, got in the truck and off to the auto store and purchased a fuel pump, took 3 hours to install due to the difficulty in changing the rubber fuel output and return hoses (may as well do it right).
Tried starting the car and it started after cranking for about 5 seconds. (GREAT!!!), Shut it off and started it up about 3 more times with the same time and results.
Now the trick is to let it warm up for awhile and see if it starts. I have to do this tomorrow, it's late and I'm beat.
I'll check in tomorrow with the results.
If anyone have any other suggestions I'd appreciated them.
P.S. fuel filter is only a month old with about 100 miles on it.
