Don't mind me
I just bought me a 76 stingray! FINALY! it's been my dream for a long time, anyway I'm only 19, and have very low mechanical, and technical knowledge so I'm gonna be bugging you guys alot from now on to help me out, please don't mind me if I seem like a noob, or ignorant about some stuff because I am, but I'm a fast learner
Ok first thing I wanna work on, is install side exuast on my 76, Never done that before so not sure if I could do it by my self or will it be too hard, would be great if you guys could provide me with tools needed, and some places where I can get the parts I need from
thanks!Edit: I really, really, really rather do it myself than taking it to a mechanic for 2 reason.
#1 It's my baby, and no one loves her more than me.
#2 I won't learn if someone else does it for me.
I guess that side exhaust mounting is not too big project to start, but it might be good to have somebody there to do it with you to get a good start.
1. Check to see if modifying exhaust is legal in New Jersey.
2. Make a list of all the stuff the car NEEDS and consider prioritizing. Side exhaust are extremely cool, but they are not cheap and if you haven't looked at your brakes etc. yet, you might want to start there.
Now that I have given you this advice, you can ignore it and order those side pipes!

I'd check all the suspension bushings, joints, steering, and brakes out first. After that modify. Or if you're like me, when fixing something upgrade it.
If they do, and if you have to get tested, the side exhaust will not be an option as you need the catylitic converter. Make sure your car is safe before you start looking to make it cool. I bought my car when I was 19 and I have a feeling I know what you are thinking
