Can someone direct me to a site or photos or something that shows the correct emblems and badges for my 1976 Vette. It has the Stingray script on each front fender, flags on front of hood, and Corvette accross the back bumper area. It also has 2 L-48's on the hood which I think is aftermarket. It does not have flags on the fenders. It does not have a key hole for an alarm in the front fender. My friend has a 1976 also, and his emblems are not the same. His has flags on the front fenders but no Stingray script. His hood has a round emblem. Both cars are 4-spd. L-48's w/ T-Tops.
Who's is correct?
I know mine's been re-painted, so did someone put the wrong stuff on?
What you have sounds correct, minus the L-48's on the hood. I'm not sure if the 76's also had some with the cross-flags on the side instead of the stingray emblem. Someone else will know that for sure.
A '76 has "Stingray" on both front fenders, a circular badge on the nose (not the hood) just above the bumper, and "Corvette" on the back bumper. Anything else is aftermarket.
There should be Stingray Script on each front Fender, An alarm Keyway forward of the script on the left front fender, a round red medallion on the front end above the bumper with crossed flags in it, and another one on the Gas Tank Filler lid. The rear bumper should have script on it that says Corvette the only other script on the 76 is on the gas Tank Lid and it says "Unleaded Fuel Only" (this was a decal and might have deteriorated over time) BTW the L48 badges are aftermarket, not original to the car. I hope this helps

I agree with the above. AND I think that all 1976s had the theft alarm lock cylinder on the left front fender. The lock cylinder was removed from the fender during the 1977 model year.
The original script CORVETTE on the rear bumper was set into an indentation in the bumper. It was made larger during the 1976 model year and was mounted on a flat bumper surface.
There were no L48 emblems on the hood. I don't know if the L82s had emblems or not. My 1975 L82 has emblems on the hood.
...and don't confuse the 1975-76 "starburst"-style nose and gas door emblems with the 1974 "starburst" emblems. They're similar, but the '74 has a much wider chrome "ring" around them.

The L-48 badges are aftermarket. Why would anyone want to advertise that?
77 had the cross flags on the nose and gas door, no "sunburst" emblems. 75-76 had the same emblem.
Huh? As stated above, '76 has Stingray scripts on the front fenders, starburst emblems on nose and gas filler lid and a theft key lock near the driver's side Stingray script. Early rear Corvette script was indented, mine is flat. Mine is 29,750 built in April of '76. NO L-48 badges! Where did '77 come from?
So 76's DIDN'T have L-48 badges from the factory??? SOAB! Some dope convinced me they were taken off and filled in. I got a pair and mounted them, so now I guess it's wrong?
Why do I listen to people? More importantly, why do people open their mouths when they know poop just falls out?
