Axle Ratios
I'm looking to reduce my hwy rpm's. At 60 mph I turn 2500 and at 70 mph its 3000. I believe that the differential is a standard 3.36:1. Would there be a significant difference / reduction, if I changed the ring & pinion (only) to obtain 3.08 or even a 2.73 ? What would this do to the performance ? Not that this is a race car.....its a driver.

RPM x .006 x .9 (if THM350/THM400/PG) x 1/2 TH (tire height) divided-by MPH = GR (gear ratio)
RPM x .006 x .9 (if THM350/THM400/PG) x 1/2 TH div/by GR = MPH
GR x MPH div/by .006 div/by 1/2 TH div/by .9 (if THM350/THM400) = RPM
If using a standard shift 4-speed with a 1:1 4th gear, or a THM350-C, DON NOT USE the ".9" quotient in any of the above formulas...
