Default Stupid Minute Hand

trying to take apart the clock on my 68...I am pulling straight up...but it ain't letting go (the minute hand that is)

any one?

Use some tiny neddle nose pliers. Use the tips
rite under the neddle, then pull up. kinda like a fork.

so it definately needs to be pulled off, no screwing or anything...ok, lets see what I got around here for that job

actually...a fork worked perfectly! a small fork with close fingers...don't tell my wife

so its apart, and it looks like the spring that the set needle goes through got sprung and worked its way through the gears...

is it possible to test it while its out of its shell? I would guess run 12v to the post and a ground to the metal around the post.

You can test the clock with a 12 volt source like a battery charger etc. as you described Positive to the poost and neg to a ground on the clock.

its a sad day...the motor on it has gone to a better place...any one have any recomendations for the quartz conversion?

The conversion is really easy to do, all the suppliers sell them for about the same price.
