Default Chrome Plating

Hi all,
How much can I expect to pay to have front and rear bumpers chome plated? I live in Glen Allen VA (suburb of Richmond) and I do not have any inside information on good platers. Anyone have any good dealings with getting parts chromed anywhere?

Find someone local. I used an interstate company and I have been wating since March, they lost my part, sent me a Chrysler replacement, then sent me a used piece that was chromed substandard. Here we are in August and still waiting on it. Find a local guy and ask to see some of his work. You get what you pay for. I have seen rear bumpers done for $150-$300 for both. You can also often buy them of ebay rechromed for that.

I took mine to Paul's chrome, about a 20 min ride from me. That's one of the reasons I decided on using him. He's been in business a long time and only does "show quality chrome." Was also recommended to me.

Took about 6 weeks and he's also known to be "on time" with his work.

Cost me $225 for each of the rear bumpers that included straightening both, he said they were bent a little.

I used Hanlon Plating in Richmond VA back in 1999 to do my bumpers. Go to www.hanlonplating.com and get their info. They are local to you, do great work, and have very quick turnaround.

I used Frankford Plating in Philadelphia, PA. They do nice work and a lot of shops use them.

However, expect to wait up to 8 weeks to get your parts back.

Good Luck.
