Default Nut/Bolt size help?

It's always something....

I was my usual idiot self while threading the nut back on to the end of the bolts for the upper control arm on my 80. It dropped and must landed in Nut Heaven(right next door to Missing Single Sock Land, I think), because I have no idea where the heck it went.

After giving up I went to the hardware store with the nut I have left and the bolt seems like it's a 7/16, but the only nut they had was 7/16-14 and that would not thread onto the UCA bolt.

Anybody have an idea what size/pitch nut I need for this bolt?

Many thanks.

Edit: Did a little diggin in the service manual. Doesn't reference that specific bolt, but it does talk about using a 7/16-20 on the lower control arm when removing/installing the bushings. SAE tables only show 7/16-14 and 7/16-20, but it's hard to imagine that would be a fine-pitch thread... hmm... still wouldn't mind confirmation.

Thanks again.

It's fine. It is the same nut as the wheel studs, In fact I replaced my cross shaft studs with old wheel studs.
It is 7/16 x 20.

On my 74 they are special nuts. The thread is fine but they are also locking nuts. This is evident by the rounded edges of one side of the nut. A regular nut may vibrate loose.
