Default 82 oil temp sender

Hi its been quite awhile but I'm back .I have a question from a guy at work that has a 82 and needs to know where the oil temp sender is located. Any help isn appreciated. Thanks terry

Back of the block on the driver side under the Distrubitor. Should have a off white plastic connector on it

That's the oil pressure sender, it's for the ECM and the fuel relay emergency shut off (in case of low or no oil press)

The temp sender is just above the oil filter pad.

Yes twin is correct, atleast on my 81 it is that way. How I know, when I rebuilt my engine I lost oil pressure, to find out a piece of teflon tape had goten in the oil pressure sending unit on the top back driverside of the block. The temperture sending unit is on the drivers side down by the oil filter.

It's right above the oil filter.

Don't snap it off trying to remove it - its long ...

I didn't snap off mine, but I also gave up trying to remove it...
These sensors are in so tight that I'm worred that I'll have a
motor with a big hole from them breaking out.

If you ground the sensor should the gauge move?
I am guessing that the gauge would read full.

ground the connector on the block (short it), the gauge should read maxxed outside the scale.
