Power booster question
Are you talking about one of the rebuilt ones from CARDONE?
I used one of theirs and put it in my 70. I converted from manual to power brakes so my scenario may not be the same as yours.
I found the shaft was about 3/4 " short to connect to the pedal. I had a hardened steel extension made and it fit just fine. You can just connect it to the pedal but you do lose about 1" of travel and also have to modify the brake pedal switch so that it doesn't always stay on. Other guys just glued some pennies to the pedal and this fixed that problem. You also end up with plenty of brake after putting it in so the extra 1" of travel isn't really an issue either. Of course I already put in an extension so I am leaving mine alone now. Not sure if I had to drill a hole in the pedal to line up the booster shaft but I think it was pretty close to the upper hole.
I think the braking is pretty much the same. Make sure the booster will clear your hood if it is different.
Good luck.
