Default help windshield wipers problems

I need help with my 1979 wipers. The problem they donot work.I have the interior gutted and there is some electric box or fuse just in front of the shifter. It clicks when I try to run the wippers. It allso clicks when I push it to spray cleaner. Any ideas how to or what to replace. And please keep it simple this is my first project car.

You may need a voltmeter, the yellow wire going to the wiper motor needs see 12 volts on it, and the motor frame needs be grounded.....

did you change a starter recently??? the starter area has a ~10 ga black wire on it, but it does NOT go to the battery post on the solenoid, it goes to engine ground....

no, I have not changed the starter or any motor work yet. I have been working from the inside of the car then to the outside. I plan to make it a daily driver but its hard with no wippers.

We had the same problem. On ours it was the dial under the stearing colum you use to turn the wipers off in mid stroke to change the blades it was not working. If you take off the two wires on this switch and jumper across them the wipers will work and you will know its the switch
