Took the car out for a very quick drive last night. Noticed that my blinkers are very slow when sitting at idle...and get a little faster when the RPMs come up??? Then noticed that when sitting at idle, my battery gauge (installed by previous owner in place of standard gauge) drops to 12v...when RPMs come up, it goes to about 13.
Is this an alternator problem? Could it be anything else? I just had to replace the battery this summer...and have been disconnecting it any time I'm not driving the car for fear it has some electrical leak that was draining it.

What is your idle speed set at? I wound up going to AutoZone and getting the only flasher that they have that was made in the USA. It is an electronic gizmo. It flashes at the same speed all the time. Seems to be working good for me though.
