Does anyone know how much load to put on the side window spring when replacing? I have gone through all the work of disassembling the door and do not want to put it back together only to find out I loaded the spring wrong. What a PITA. Don't want to do it again. I never thought this would stump me this bad.....I hate working on doors... ...LOL. any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Hey DMAX. I think there's only one way to put the spring in. I just recently replaced mine on my passenger door and wondered how in the hell am I going to get the tension right. I eventually got a large set of vise-grip pliers and slowly twisted the spring (while standing on the regulator, I have no vise) and got it to go back into the slot on regulator. It looks scary and it is a little, but a little concentration and patience and you're done. I'll try and find the images from a members web site and post the link. That helped me out a lot. Good luck!
Thats exactly what I did! I just wanted to make sure it was right before I put the assembly back in the door. So I guess if yours works OK then I mine will too THANKS!. ...........Again I hate working on doors....LOL!
BTW is there any trick to getting the glass back in the door it took my wife and I about an hour or so to get it out?
