You lucky ones that attended the Carlisle show: What were your observations relative to pricing on C-3 and C-4's? What did you see sell? What were some of the better deals, and the most ridiculous prices???

Thanks!

From a vendors stand point, the show was excellent for us. We sold a lot parts. We bought a lot of cores as well.

I was looking for a 63 to rebuild. The crappiest car w/out a front clip, engine or trans was going for 26K. I'de call that the most rediculous price.

I didn't get to go to the auction at all so I can't comment on that. For us it has been the best Carlisle Show in awhile. Other years we did good but this year we doubled what we did last year.

Early C4s were very cheap $6K-$8K
Late C4s in good condition $12K-15K

Beater plastic bumper C3s $6-$8K

Nice (ie drivers) Chrome bumper C3s started at around $12K for coupes, $19-20K for verts.

I saw a "rebuilt" white 69 go across the block at MECUMs. It was a POS. They had to push it on to the blocks to sell it. When it did start it almost smoked out the tent. It did not sell for $10K and it needed a LOT of work.

C5's at MECUM were going for "reasonable" prices but I cannot remember the figures. I had a friend sell an immaculate 2003 coupe for $26K last week with only 15000 miles so there is your benchmark.

At MECUMS I saw two C2 TRI-POWER cars go for $78K and $90K. Crazy prices.

An NCRS silver 70 coupe had a $26K sticker price on it, may have been $30K but cannot remember.

C1 an C2's were out of my league.

Beater C2s were selling for at least $25K.

I saw a really rough C1 for $30K.

The cars I looked at were in average condition and priced too high to sell, IMO. Ex- 69 coupe body damaged, underside needing attention, a #2 car for $12,000. 64 coupe needing EVERYTHING 18,000. I didn't see any burned out cars like in years past!

Part prices were all over the place. Some people were reasonable, others seeming to fill a crack addiction

Considering the money saved on a decent part vs the cost of travel, food, hotel, etc you don't save. If you like walking around acres of hot, humid, open fields looking at a LOT of vettes,a lot of junk, and maybe finding that one part that actually fits then this is the place to be.

Again this is just my opinion on the event. It was fun but 3 days is more then enough for me. The gate prices were $12, parking outside was $10, bottle of water $2.00, hot dog $4.00, 10x10 vendor spot $90
saving on parts 10%,beign there - priceless
