Question About TH400
I need to replace the transmission temporarily (its developed a leak from the front somewhere) and have found a local guy that has a couple of transmissions for a reasonable price. Have a question though, is the TH400 in vettes (1969) long tail shaft??Anything particular to the vette??

Nick the TH400 out of my 72 is a short tailshaft housing,I would think yours would be the same. The 70 and earlier 400's have some better internals.The Chevy 400's come to a point at the 12 o'clock position,the other GM 400's have a radius.The bolt pattern is different I believe. It might be better to just rebuild or repair yours. I took my time rebuilding my 400,but a good tranny man can do it a few hours.
