I am trying to adjust the carb linkages for the tri-power setup and came across this "stop" on the primary carb. Is this supposed to be there or is this some "performance" enhancing solution? Also, what is the correct sequence for the bolt, washers and linkages? It is not clear from the AIM, but it appears that the linkage to the front carb goes on first followed by the linkage to the rear carb and both are sandwiched between the nylon washers.

Jay,
There may not be a lot of tri powers out here... try cruising the users profiles for a tri power and sending an email or private message to one of them. Just a thought...
Jay,
The stop is definitely Bubba. Looks like he was trying to force the secondaries open. When you open the throttle fully under no load the secondaries should not open.
Do you have the correct bolt, nut and spacer combination for the linkage?
It can be obtained from many of the suppliers. The bolt comes through from the carb side and has a "T" washer so when you tighten the nut down it doesn't bind on the slot.
The front linkage is put on first and I cant remember if there is a washer between the linkages.
The 68 AIM has a good set of instructions on how to set up the linkage on L71 (l68) A4.5
Good Luck!
