Default Adding tilt/tele steering to a '69

I'm thinking about adding a tilt/tele steering column to my '69. I was wondering how difficult of a conversion this is, what years of columns are interchangeable, and the approximate cost of the hardware. Any help on locating a source for columns would also be appreciated. Thanks for any help.

I'm into the same thing. At 6'4" the wheel is against my thighs and I can barely turn the wheel. Corvette central sells everything you need however new is outrageous. Might consider E-Bay.

BTW getting the bolts under the dash is a bitch unless you have 2-3 dwarfs working for you.

The bare T&T steering column with the tilt and turn signal levers are the same from 1969 through 1976.

I believe that the steering wheels are the same - T&T as well as standard (non-adjustable) steering columns 1969 through 1975.

The T&T horn, telescope locking hardware, hub, extension, and steering wheels are the same 1969 through 1975.

The T&T horn, telescope locking lever and steering wheel are unique for 1976.

It would be best to purchase the T&T steering column, levers, hub, extension, horn button, and telescope hardware at the same time as you purchase the steering column. As mentioned above, you can most likely use your original steering wheel.

I believe the '68 TT column is unique to that year due to the key being on the dash. My question is weather or not the shorter '77 up column is a direct fit. Anyone know?

The 1967 and 1968 columns were the same and unique for just those two years. 1969-76 columns were completely different from the 1967-1968. I wouldn't even consider trying to interchange the two different designs.

Take a look at this paper with respect to installing a 1977-1982 column in a 1969 through 1976 Vette.

Good luck,
