Well, go a call from the body shop today. Car was supposed to go to paint tomorrow or Friday. They had it sitting outside to let the primer dry and an insurance agent from Progressive backed into the front passenger fender. Damage is pretty extensive. They are getting a new fender tomorrow and will glass it in this week. Car was supposed to be done late next week but I figure this will push it out another week.
I have some pics but can't post them till I get my homepage back.
Did notice that the passenger fender is sitting pretty high after looking at the pics. Did not bother to walk around the car so not sure if it is damage or just the new springs. I do know that it is sits higher with the new 460# vice the old 550# coils so I was resigned to having to cut the front coils a little anyway unless it settles once I can start driving again.
Oh well. Bad - car hit. Good - not painted yet, alread at shop, their fault and will fix on their dime. Just not worth getting spooled up over.

A bad new/good news thing. I had to have my drivers side fender replaced. Turned out real nicely. It actually fits better than the original does around the headlights. Go figure.

It is nice to see that you are taking this in stride. Of course it would be upsetting to have this happen, but at least you know the guy who hit your car was insured. Wonder if his rates will go up.
Wow, that's a bummer and a laugh at the same time. It is good you aren't up on the governor about it. Hopefully if doesn't delay the paint by too much. I can't wait to see it when it's done. I guess I'm not paying attention, are you repainting it yellow or are you changing colors?
Going back yellow. I think a C3 is the only car that can really pull off the yellow thing.
Return date has already slid a week two weeks so this isn't too much plus, I am going to be in Reno this weekend (leaving tomorrow) for Tailhook so I have more important things on my mind.
As for the pics, I am hoping that Troy will get the forum back up to speed so I can post them here. I'll give it till next week then I'll look into a photohost.
I don't mean to laugh at your misfortune, but I found the situation funny. That's like tripping over a lawyer in a hospital and breaking your leg...I suppose it could be worse.

Yeah, at least I still have the Avalanche to drive. I can keep up with 99.9% of the ricers and intimidate all the pretty Bimmer's around Newport.
The Vette has seen less than 500 miles this year between the wiped cam, body work, rebuilt motor (which still burns a little oil, praying that the rings will seat in the next 1000 miles), moving cross country, and now the final body work. Plus, sidepipes, smart struts, 460# coils, shocks, a new RR caliper. Too much $$$$ and not enough driving.
Vow for 2005 - no time off the road and lots of driving.
