Help with Body on Frame alignment
Though the body has never been off of the frame, the body appears to be rotated slightly, maybe 1/2" - 1" on the rear and a little on the front as well.
How difficult is it to do this fine alignment?
What do you use for reference points? On the frame the axle and spindle centers could work I'm guessing, but the body, who knows...
Thanks,
It's just a little bit earlier than your question.
The #2 and #3 mounting holes have a total of about 3/4 inch total "slop" The #1 and #4 mounting holes have a tremendous variation..perhaps a couple of inches, so there's a pretty big latitude for constraining exactly where the body is! I have a spare frame so I eye-balled the dimensions on my spare frame. #3 and #3 mounting holes are #2 - it's inside the kick panels and #3 is behind the little panel that's on the frame arch immediately in front of the rear wheels.
Look how the body aligns around the wheel arches at the rear wheel compartment.
