Default Preplacing Pushrods

I need some advice on pushrods.
It seems I waited too long to check on my valve lash and have destroyed a pushrod. One of the poly locks backed off a bit and the round end of the pushrod was broken off.
First, I will remove the intake to look for bits of broken metal.
Now onto my question: what are the best pushrods to get?
And how do I order them? Can I just measure the existing ones and replace them all with the same size? Or is the measurement going to be so precise that I'll need to call my engine builder to find out what size was used?

I use comp cams push rods, but crane or gm are both good also. If you call the maker and tell them what you have, they can tell you what you need.

Most come in .100 in increments, I use 8" digital calipers to measure but you can probably use a ruler with 1/10 of in. increments. A street/strip motor will probably never need anything better than the "80 wall" Hi Tech pushrods from Comp Cams l

Man, that 383 is a parts eater. Are you running highier ratio rockers currently?

Yes, I believe they are 1.6 rollers. I made the mistake of putting all my engine info only on my website and these corvetteforum websites still aren't working.

Yeah, this engine has now eaten a pushrod and a harmonic balancer. But this time I think it was my fault because I haven't checked my valve lash in over a year. I'm running solid flat tappet lifters and cam setup.

On the side of the pushrod it reads:Engine Works 7900 . Any clue what that may mean or who the manufacturer is?

TrickFlow's are reasonably priced at SUMMIT. They are .080 wall, one piece, chromemoly. I've had mine for about 7 years and they've been through some abuse.

That's what I was thinking about, the TrickFlow chromoly pushrods. Those seemed to be the best Summit carries. Unless there is anything better elsewhere that somebody knows about I'm going to order the TrickFlows Monday.

How can you tell what length push rods an engine needs?
