Carpet Installation Pics Finally
Well I charged up the battery in the Digital Cam last night (tried to shoot pics then but couldn't)
Here's the newly leathered seats and new carpet. Some new other parts too such as windshield pillars, dashboard and seat buckets. Also new is the console which looks like the color is too light in the pics but in real life it matches pretty well.

Looking good. I had a hard time with my pillar moulding. It just doesn't want to fit like I want it too. So, for the time being I am living with it.
Your amp, is it just setting there or did you screw it down? That looks like a good location to me. I have been trying to come up with a good place for mine.

Yea the pillars fit looser than the original ones... but they aren't burnt from the sun, rotten in the corners, and ugly!
The amp is, INDEED! screwed down and that's the permanent location. My wife is short so there's no problem w/the right side seat being up a couple of clicks from the far back position.
Stereo is a Pioneer SuperTuner III 50Wx4 with a single CD player built in. The 500 Watt amp gets plenty of cool air there - don't have to worry about it getting hot. I have Pioneer 4" speakers in the dash, and 6x9's in the far rear corners - in the space behind the wheel wells. We get plenty of tunes even with the T-Tops off going down the freeway (at the legal speed limit of course!)

Wow! You are doing a great job on that car! I am getting my 67 396 Impala delivered to me tonight. I want to get together with you so I can check that interior out in person, NTM show off my newest ride!
How did you secure your carpet on the panel behind the seats? I am also doing this and when I fold it back over the panel I can't see how to get it to stay there. Will spray adhesive hold that bend or is yours tucked under the front of the storage compartment trim? By the way, yours is looking good.

Thats the one place thats flopping in the breeze ... at least behind the driver's seat. The Stereo amp holds down the right side and I have yet to glue the left side down. Adhesive should do it fine though...the stuff that I used for the Reflectix (3M Spray) works well once it 'sets up' for 90 seconds or so. Interestingly enough all the other carpet is just sitting there, tucked under the trim and the console. All the trim is screwed in except for the console and the carpet pieces are held fast. Even the far back one by the light - it's being held up by the speakers that are in the far upper back corners of the wheel wells.
After I start driving it again and things loosen up we'll see about the need to glue the carpet down. I'm still fussin' with that console to make it move forward enough to get the car into PARK. It just doesn't fit right even after moving the dash up and forward as far as it will go.
The original console is broken on both sides (it lays flat on the garage floor) so I'm bound and determined to make this new one fit right!
Yea that's the remote for the stereo. It fits right in there on top of the door for the ash tray - it's only 1/4 inch thick!
I have that same stereo with my remote sitting in the same spot, I was pumped when it happened to sit in there perfectly. My amp is in the same place too and works well......in fact the only difference in my system is i have a 10 in woofer in a bandpass box which can be waaaaay beyond loud in a vette cab.
