New member here in the New Orleans area, been lurking for a while and decide to finally join in. I’ve own a ’71 coupe that’s been my daily driver for the last 14 years. The car is nowhere close to stock or number’s matching, but it’s a blast to drive as long as you don’t mind the 4-5 mpg. This is the latest motor combination that I’ve put in it.
1970 Nova 4 bolt block that has been decked and loaded with a steel crank, TRW forged flat top pistons, Summit stage II connecting rods with ARP’s best rod bolts. Pete Jackson quite gear drive, Isky Z-35 solid lift cam with the Isky lifters, Fluidamper Street Damper, and a high torque gear reduction starter turning the small (153 tooth) flexplate. World Product Heads with 2.10 intake and 1.65 exhaust valves and the heads have been decked, fully ported and polished. 1.55” valve springs, 1.6 aluminum roller rockers and a Moroso stud girdle. Mallory Comp 9000 Unilite distributor with an MSD 6A box. Weiand Team G single plane intake with an 825 cfm Might Demon carburetor, covered with a drop base breather with 3” air filter.
The Turbo 400 was rebuilt about a year ago and I put in the B&M transpack and a 3000 stall converter.
This combination runs great but I know it will do better so I’m still working on tuning the Demon.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you on board with us. Those mileage numbers are hard to swallow about right now with the price of gas. But it does sound like it would be fun to drive.
Wow, nice looking Vette. Glad to have you officially with us. It sounds like you have a pretty mean engine combination. I'm sure it's a hoot to drive. Using it as a daily driver is cool too.
Thanks for the welcome to the group. The vacuum system still works but it is extremely slow with this particular cam. Even though it is a daily driver, I only put about 100 miles a week on it.
