Yeah, it make me sad when I read about Americans complaining about prices nearing $2 a gallon when I have to pay UK prices
I had to use my '77 as a daily driver for a while too. Was costing £12 per day to get to work and back. The courtesy car (Vauxhall Meriva) I'm driving now while my normal daily driver (TVR Tasmin) is off the road is doing the same commute for £15 per week!

You have TVR as a daily driver! Those are really nice looking cars! Too bad that they don't sell those in Finalnd and you are driving from the wrong (right) side of the car... Those TVR's have also great sound! At least the few did that I saw in London in February...

Er, no. I think you'll find that we drive on the correct side of the road. It's the seats in the Vette that are on the wrong side

Last year I was driving my Vette along an empty road (Headers, dual 2 1/2 pipes & glasspacks on the end, quiet it isn't) and suddenly heard an almighty deep bellowing sound Thinking I'd lost my exhaust system (not unlikely - it was me that bolted it on ) I looked in the rear view mirror, expecting to see it bouncing down the road, & saw a TVR Griffith tail-gating me. Even though it was behind me I could still hear it above the din that mine makes. Impressive
Fuel prices? Don't start me off on them. Thought I'd found a solution on Sunday - just fill up in Belgium! Trouble was that by the time I got home I'd used most of it up One way to ease the pain is to fit an OD tranny. Not only does it drag the C3 into the modern world (2000rpm @ 75mph with 2.87:1 rear), it's also paid for 25% of it's cost in fuel savings over the last 2 years (and I haven't done that many miles).
Or the "non-looks" you get from people. You know the ones looking straight ahead flooring their cars to keep up with yours....I just love that.
So it's not just English BMW drivers that do that?!
The post above is bang on, it's not the cost of the fuel (remember when we were promised riches beyond our wildest dreams, lives of leisure, decent weather, etc, etc due to north sea oil?), it's the criminal amount of tax put on by our money grabbing government.

Nope, not just English BMW drivers. I love those drivers though, I just look over at them, smile and goose my nose back and forth with the gas, it pisses them off!
We settled that whole taxation thing with your government.

We know! Ever since then they've been making up for the shortfall in their budget by taxing us natives even more. Allegedly somebody tried to arrange a Portsmouth Tea Party, but it just ended up as a few pensioners sitting around drinking cups of Tea & eating fairy cakes

TVR Griffith! Are they still making these? With the Ford small block V8? I had a '66. Really fast. Wife hated it as it was almost as hot inside as a C3 coupe w/o AC.
