We actually have to mark this down as a World First: First time ever a Tuning for Beer Tour has been cancelled due to a Hurricane..!

I have talked to Pete (event organizer), and we are tentatively putting the event on again in November, date to be determined. I got a credit for my airfare, so I'll re-schedule my flight as soon as we know the new dates.

The Tuning for Beer toolbox is packed and ready to go, and all the parts for all the cars are in my goodie-bag. We'll just have to have all the participants bring chainsaws so we can clear a street for test driving the cars.

Thread Hijack Alert!!!!
Are there any "TFB" events (or any Vette related events) going on in California next May? Somewhere between SF & LA would be ideal.
End of thread hijack - sorry!

None planned yet, but that's not to say we can't put one together. There has been some interest from various groups out in CA to do an event, so it could certainly be done. Are you planning on coming over at that time..? Keep in mind that we have TFB every weekend in Denver!

Sure am It's looking pretty certain that one of the things I want to do in life will happen next May. We're booking a holiday (vacation!) to drive down the PCH in a vert. The cost of a C5 is well beyond what we can afford (a C3 is even more!!), so we'll be doing it in a Sebring... or similar. That's what I'm worried about: the "or similar". Last time I ended up with an "or similar" it was a poxy Fiat Punto. How my mates chortled Don't, whatever you do, arrange anything on the strength of me being there, as anything could happen between now & May. And if we do make it over, there's no way on earth that I'm going to turn up to a TFB session in an "or similar" If you do have a TFB session & spot a suspicious looking Fiat Punto lurking, being driven by somebody wearing a large hat, false beard & dark shades, it could be me. Or it could be the local vagrant.... But it'd be to buy you those beers in person.

I think you'd have to pay a premium to rent a Fiat Punto here in this country... If I were you, and in spite of all the "foul" cries you'll hear on this Forum, I'd rent a Mustang convertible. These are cheap to rent, handle well, and have V8s in them. This would be a ton of fun to drive down the PCH - more so than a Sebring. If you get over here, we'll have to make arrangements with or without a TFB to share a brew.

[very quiet whisper]I like Mustangs, now why didn't I think of that? Good point, I'll get a quote[/very quiet whisper] It'd be quite ironic using a 'stang to lug loads of Vette parts down the Californian coast.

JCSWM,

It looks like the CBO will be on the last weekend of October. Keep checking the website for details.

I think LARS will be here the week before due to other committments. As soon as I know I will do a new TFB post on the CF. You are more then welcome to come over and see LARS and then come back for the show the week after. It is just down the road after all!

Cheers,

Pete
