which transmission do I have?
My Corvette is a 1976 model with the L48 engine and the M20 4 speed transmission. Is this a Saginaw, Muncie or other? The M21 was the close ratio transmission, this is the M20 standard model.

If you have the original trans still in the car ir should be a BW ST-10. They are pretty good and a little better then the Muncies. You have a wide ratio probably with 336 gears. For street use this is better then the M-21.

Look at the drivers side of the trans....If the bottom of the side casing is curved...you have a BW st-10, If it is straight you have a muncie....I am pretty sure 76's (mine is a BW--76) all had the Super T-10.
