Default water pump problems

ok, got all my nice new stuff together. i cant find a water pump to fit my pulleys.....the nipple that sticks through the pully on the new pump is way to big... all of the new pumps wont fit.... so i tried getting new pulleys... they are exactly the same as my old ones.... this is really starting to get me fired up!!!! and of course you cant just ask they guy at the parts counter for a shorty style small block chevy water pump.... guys cant do anything in those places without an exact vehicle than he pulls the well buddy i see you are using and after market pulley.... that is definetly you problem as he smiles thinking he is a genious... like i did not try that first!!!

Make sure you have the corvette specific short style water pump......not just the short style.......I just replaced mine with the edel victor corvette short pump on my 76, and all of my original pulleys lined up OK.good luck

Here's an Autozone part number for my 79's water pump: 130-1310. It was $26.

You have a corvette pump and non-corvette pulley, you need to order a new pulley from a vette part dist or get a diff pump with the small snout (5/8" as opposed the vette's 3/4")

The alt and a/c brackets will be miss aligned with the non-vette short pump, it is slightly dif length so might be best to get the vette water pump pulley.
