You all helped me fix my clutch earlier in the week - the 2 nuts on the rod came loose and it was an easy fix!!
There is a "return spring" apparently running from the rod to the firewall - I do not have this spring - do I need it? Is there anything functionally wrong without having it? Seems ok but just want to know what its for...
It pulls the throw out bearing away from the clutch fingers, the weight of the clutch pedal will make it ride on them all the time shortening its life, I would find a replacement spring
Just FYI, it hooks to a little hole towards the bottom of the steering column plate. I racked my brain forever poking around there with a flashlight looking for a hole before I finally wised up and asked the CF.

Thanks wcsinx! - also - im not at home where my car is - but where does it hook to on the other end?
Also - About how many inches is the spring?
