hello
I have a issue
the 1969 L-71 is idling at around 1000-1100 and
well I adjusted with the idle screw and mixture screw, and then it idles at 850 then as the car is driven it goes back to 1000-1100?
is there a correct way to set the idle speed which should be around 800.
anyone who could help with some advise

Sounds like the carb continues to use the fast idle setting. Now after warm up when you flip the throttle where does it idle? You can look at the idle cam and see weather its on the the fast idle step or normal idle step. If fast idle step then i suspect choke linkage problems. Becareful here and only make one addjustment to linkage at a time and write it down. If on normal idle step then the choke pull-off isn't doing its job - bad canister or vacuum line/tubing not hooked up or to the wrong tubing.
Happy hunting. cardo0
