Default Finished the Brakes

Well I bleed her out again today (4th time) and got no air at all so I put the wheels back on and drove her around today. the pedal still didn't feel "rock" hard but she stops straight and and will lock all 4 down. i had another person drive it to get their impression and they said it felt pretty good. He offered me a ride in his Tahoe right after to compare and te vette was less spungy than that Tahoe so maybe this is as hard as they are gonna get.

anyway I'll drive her for a few weeks and see what I get. Its always a lil scary when ya think your brakes are less than perfect.

Now I get to concentrate on The from half of the Street and Salomn kit and the Steeroids in the garage

Rest easy. Sound like they are fine. Mine are super spongy right now and I'm still driving.

Glad to hear a sucess story. I am still working on mine. I am going on my 6th caliper as of this AM. 3 out of the 4 original set were fine but the drivers front was leaking causing me days of grief in bleeding. Now that I figured THAT out, I get a replacement and this one looks like it must have been weded and ground down in the middle. The POS does not sit evenly over the rotor so one side is tighter than the other and this one leaks too. OUTRAGEOUS!

No more Autozone brakes for me after this.

Well dont feel bad. I'm holding my breath. I have a very suspect caliper...the same one you are having problems with as a matter of fact. My system seems to be in good shape but I got lots of air from that caliper while others were bleeding solid. I am not entirely convinced that I have solved the problem...it still feels spungy to me but they lock down and seem to be holding up. I'm gonna drive for a few weeks then re-bleed and see if she is drawing in air.

I feel your pain though. It is hard enough to bleed these systems with all good parts. but I have heard numrous stories of over 50% failure rates on "new" parts. I like everone else would trade a warranty for parts that were tested and QC'd before they were sold in a second. Part of the problem is we are just one customer, I would love to see a vendor satisfaction rating section on this forum.
