Fuel delivery
Hey all,
For you big horse guys, what is your fuel delivery system like? GPH on the fuel pumps, manual or electric, regulated or not? This is going on a Holley carb btw (not the 4500 series).

Pretty intense little system there hahaha is that much necessary or is that just playing it safe?
Would mating up a say, 140gph free flow 14psi max Holley electric fuel pump make sense considering it is a Holley carb? More or less gph here for the 500+ hp?

What's your power goal? calculate the fuel requirement and select a pump that will deliver it (with margin built in), some guys use 2 pumps.

On an 870cfm carb, Im taking a wild guess that 140gph of fuel should be enough? Whats the formula to calculate this?

You'd think a 140 gallon per hour fuel pump would be sufficient. The early C3's had 20 gallon fuel tanks. A 140 GPH pump will empty the tank in about 8 minutes and 35 seconds!

They do just fine on a stock pump and carb.

Im still wondering what was meant by the 8 minute remark? He surely isnt insinuating that a 140 gph fuel pump is going to drain my tank every 8 minutes when Im driving...because...
