widest tire on C3

I know i saw this somewhere before on the old forum, but i cant seem to find anything when i search the new one, whats the widest tire you can put on a C3 without flares, tubbing, or sticking out, thanks

depends on the year but on 78-82 you can fit 295/50/15 on the rear with just relocating the parking brake bracket, on the others 275/60/15 or 275/50/15 will fit.

can you go wider if you go with a bigger wheel, say 17-18 inch?thanks

If you use offset trailing arms, a shortened steel spring you can fit 5 inch backspacing and run 305 tires. 295 actually fits very easy.
