73 Help Vin & ID

Need help proving or disproving correct #'s
on 1973 vette engine casting is correct
but the ID and Vin are in question

I don't have my book with me on this business trip, but I found this on the internet with a Google search:

code year ci hp tranny
CLA 1977 350 180 4 a/t
CLA 1973 350 190 4 tur hydro. 400
CLA 1974 350 195 4 tur hydro. 400

I don't claim that this is the correct information but when I get home I will look at the "Lime Book" which lists all known Chevy codes. In addition, I believe that you should have a "5" after the S in your sequence on the pad. Working from memory here.

Ooops, I should have posted that I THINK the small block codes for 72 are CKW for 200 hp engines and CKY for 255 hp LT1's. Again from memory here.

Flint plant, Sep 15, 1972 I guess, with low #3923
CLA is base engine auto trans
does the 3S403923 match your vin?

according to black book, #3923 would have been made in October 72, so looks right from here.
So your vin should be 3923 and check your trim plate to see if info there (build date) confirms the early vin.
