Oil Pump & Timing Chain Tricks?
I decided to change the oil pump (I have low pressure) with a Melling 55A & steel rod. I'm going with the 1 piece pan gasket. My inspection cover has 2 hooks that hold the pan up, I got it out by twisting it around them, in putting the pan back can I just push the hooks in and then pry them out or should I drop the starter and cover? Any other tricks on installing the pump & pan? Next is the timing chain set, this is still in, I'm going to replace it with a Cloyes Double Roller. I'm going to borrow a puller & press for the balancer. Any tricks here? Hows the room to work with, looks real tight...
