I bought a high volume Holley fuel pump that has the normal inlet and outlet fittings. What I didn't realize is that my 454 stock pump uses a third line (inlet, outlet and return) for return. Can I just block/cap off the fuel return line and use the pump or am I in for problems by doing this?
I have a friend that uses a big Holley mech pump on his Camero. Instead of capping off the return line. Plumb a restricted return off of a fuel log type twin bowl feed back into the existing 1/4 return.
It keeps the gas so cold going to carb that fuel boiling in the bowls is a thing of the past.
Good idea, but I'm trying to get a mental picture on how that works? If I tap into the fuel log, then what? Are you saying that there will be more than enough fuel to feed the Holley carb while pumping gas back back up the return at the same time?
