80 degrees in upstate New York today, blue sky, the leaves are changing, gorgeous autumn day...and I saw four (count 'em, FOUR) C5 converts driving around with their tops up, their windows up, and the AC on!
Come on folks, you might as well buy a maroon Buick LeSabre like all the rest of the old folks!!!
In the 6 years I've owned my Vette, the top has been up once only because of abnormally low extreme cold (even caused warnings). Normally I would just roll up the windows and turn on the heater (works great).
omg, comon guys. Enough of the c5 rants. The c5s dont play nice with me, they dont wave, they dont turn wrenches, they dont own a c3, they are old, they dont run with the tops down. Whens it going to stop??

Speak for your self. My garage has a C3 and a C5 in it. I also try to
play nice.
The convertible tops are not electrically operated. Too much trouble to put them down when you are just going to have to put it back up again! C6 electric top is a good option!

the phrase speak for your self when referring to my post would mean that I constantly rant about c5s... I just dont understand your reasoning. If you interpreted my post as saying, jerrymcb, enough of the c5 ranting, then you misread it.

Perhaps we both read something into the posts that were not there.
You mentioned that C5ers do not have c3s. Well a number of us
do! They are all great cars.
I just reread and you are right I misunderstood however I
still meant to make a positive post. Apologies if I did not.

Newer guys are just introverted until they see you again!
Most C5'ers think that they are better than C3'ers ,which they may well be from one or more points of view, but the ones who have owned C3's always wave back, as you will find in retrospect.
Anyway, when they kind of ignores you at a traffic light while they have a celphone stuck to their head, just pick up an old telephone that happens to be lying around in your car and stick it to your own ear.....they should smile..or look at least
good call, we can still rub it in their faces that our cars are going up in value while the c5's value is rapidly, rapidly decreasing. Just the other day I saw a 98 coupe with i think 60k on it go for 18 grand on ebay.
My wife and I went up to her mothers on I-94 for about 100 miles. As a travel game we look for 'vettes on the other side of the interstate.
C6 = 0
C5 = 9
C4 = 1
C3 = 0
C2 = 0
The comment re:C5's sounds familiar. In the mid '70s, I remember a conversation with a buddy - "Can you believe it?? A Vette with an *automatic* transmission!! Who would have thought? I guess they're for women and old guys..."
