got lucky I guess, my 78 is repairable. Took it to a Corvette repair shop and they checked it out and frame wasn't bent. but front end has to be replaced so my question is:Are after market front ends any good and should I have entire car re-painted and clear coated?m I'll try yo post a pic
Thanks
I would get the whole car repainted with that kind of damage. Then again, how old is the original paint? If it's under a year or two, matching won't be as big a deal, over that and the sun will have really taken its toll.
Insurance should cover a repaint when the amount being replaced is that high anyways. Almost half the car will have fresh paint.
car is 78 silver aniversary edition and was all original, The guy told me insurance would only pay for re-paint for front end only and he could blend it in, or pay 25hundred to have rest of car done at same time, adjuster will be their monday.
An aftermarket (i.e. one piece, not original construction techniques) will de-value your car. Just something to be aware of.
I'd expect them to have to feather the paint into the doors. At that point, I'd probably just pay to have the rest of it painted if it was at all in need.
Well all i gotta say is the value of your car wrecked is Zip, nill, Bupkiss, but if you have a one piece front end and a whole paint job, well its a Corvette then! Here is the one piece I'm putting on my 73 C3.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Most insurance companies are pretty bad ( I have some other choice words for them too ) and only paint what they can get away with, that means to get the rest of the car painted it will come out of your pocket I would bite the bullet and do it though
