My understanding of chrome plating is that;
1. The chrome is not flexible.
2. The plating process changes the propertys of the metal.

The coil springs on my old Harley were chrome with nary a problem.

Got a point there with the motorcyle springs ... mostly all chromed.
I wouldn't buy this spring regardless .... looks like it has lost it's arch.

Many street rodders use vette rear ends, so a chrome spring would be good in that application. Joe

Never knew chroming had such a nasty weakening effect on metal!!
Not that I would buy a chrome leafspring, mind you, as I prefer my graphite (or whatever it is) monospring.

i don't think it is, but polished nickel looks like some coils i see so i'm not sure

I think it's a different process than normal chroming, thermal spraying doesn't cause hydrogen embrittlement
