Trim Ring Replacement?
Lost one due as a result of a rear tire blowout the other day. Had stainless, but was thinking of ordering a full set of chrome from Eckler's. Anyone have the chrome and are you satisfied with them?

Corvette America has the stainless ones. A set is about $90. IMHO the stainless looks better and you never have to worry about pitting/corrosion. For $90 you don't get a lot of chrome. You can find originals for $10 a piece at Corvettes of Carlisle. I bought some there a few weeks ago. These trim rings were used on LOTS of Chevys in the 70's. You could also try a wrecking yard.

I just bought a new set of stainless from The Last Detail in Atlanta for $60. They look and fit great. The outer edge is slightly different but nobody will ever notice. They look like the originals. Mine had a lot of curb rash because I've had my car 33 years and for most of those years it wasn't such a valuable "collector car," but was a daily driver. I believe the originals are also stainless so I wouldn't go to chrome. Chrome for that price will surely not last and the stainless will last forever. There are several suppliers that sell the stainless for $60/set. I went to Last Detail because they're local and I put them on in the parking lot.
