Electrical-Brake Light Weirdness
Tonight a friend of my son came over. He had complimented me on my car earlier. I was changing oil in my truck at the time, so I asked him would he like to go for a ride in the vette later. He lit up and said yeah!!! I finished up the oil change and had him call and ask his mother if it was alright. Anyway, we were out and I turn the lights on. He asked about the lights on the console and I told him what they are and what they were for. So as I am telling him about the fiber optics I see that the drivers side taillight is not working when I put the brakes on. Let off the brakes and the light comes back on. Puzzling.
Here is what I have found.
1. With the headlights off the brake lights work correctly.
2. With the headlights on, the DS brake light goes out when I touch the brakes.
3. All other lights work correctly.
Anyone got any ideas. I am thinking that it must be the bulb. The headlight switch and the rear light harness is new.

The bulb is a dual filament bulb, one filament for the headlight/parking light circuit and one filament for the stop light circuit both connected to the same ground. are you sure you have a good ground?
