Easy question...just need to make sure I didn't screw up the wiring here, installed a Mallory Unilite breakerless ignition but apparently I don't need a ballast resistor, soo...the brown ground wire is attached to the intake manifold by a screw...

Hello,
I cant help you on that one. I think you need to find someone that has also done this.
Can you add some more informaiton?
What year engine.
Is this a conversion from points to a breakerless ignition system.
Maybe you can get some better help than I can give.

It's a 72 L48, and yeah it's a conversion from a dual-point to a breakerless...there's supposed to be a ballast resistor which both the red wire and ignition switch connect to on the positive terminal, and then there's a wire leading from the negative on the resistor to the positive on the coil...I'm bypassing the resistor for now though...
on a standard installation the red wire connects to positive side of coil, green wire to negative side of coil and brown wire to ENGINE BLOCK ground, so yes i would say you had it right....
