Default 1980 L82 question for newbie

I've just bought my first Vette. It's a 1980 L82, white with red interior. Nice shape with 75,500 miles on it. I'm looking for dealers and businesses that deal in NOS and original reproduction parts. I thought some of you pros could point me in the right direction. I'm not really looking for anything specific right now, but would like to have some contacts and browse what they have.

Also what are the correct center caps for the rims? mines got a 3-prong spinner that unscrews from a cone shapped piece that covers the lug nuts. Is this original or an aftermarket?

We're supposed to promote the sponsors at the left of this screen. They are good companies, but not the only ones. Besides Ecklers and Zip products, there are Paragon, Mid America, Bairs and DocRebuild. You'll have to Google them, and order their free catalogs. Have fun with your new addiction. Joe

An excellent reference is to get a copy of the Chassis Body and Parts Catalog. This is what GM dealers used to look up parts before the
information was put on computers. It contains illustrations of most
parts groups and part numbers.

You can give the part number to any GM dealer and they can tell you if it is still available or if there is a new part no. Many items for your corvette are still available from GM.

The catalogs can be found for sale on e bay and at swap meets. You may get lucky and a dealer may have a copy they are not using.

You can also use the part numbers to search at this site:
http://www.partsvoice.com/partsvoice...arch_part.html

It will show any dealers that have the item in stock. At great
resource for locating NOS parts.

Don't worry...as soon as the various vendors find out you bought a Vette, you'll get a STACK of catalogs

Thanks for all the input. And would love to get catalogs if any vendors are reading.

Latest issue of Corvette Fever has an order form for all the good catalogs. Some are a couple bucks, some free. I think $2 shipping/handling. Get em all in one shot!

Ive get more free catalogs than I know what to do with. Just order them from their websites. Its great reading and lets you begin to know whats out there.

For real information, I havent found anything that comes close to this forum for learning about these cars.

Paul 67, I love those aluminum turbine blade wheels. One of my all time factory favorites.
