First corvette "Kill" story

A little background ..... I'm a Corvette Mechanic at a Chevrolet Dealer.
Had a customer come in today with a slightly modified C4 bragging about how fast his car is to another tech ... The other tech informs him we run cars out back & tells him "John thinks hi's old Corvette is fast.... He'll run ya!!" & pointed out my Primer Yellow C3 parked about 100 yards away..... I was told the guy laughed when he saw my car & said "sure I'll run him!!"
The other tech & My Boss came & got me .... Informed me the guy was an *** (Everyone there knows him but me-I'm the new guy) and told what was going on & asked me to shut the SOB up!!!
i met the guy & Chatted for a couple...... & He asked if I wanted to run him.
I agreed but I needed to check my oil & look my car over real Quick since I just got her "back on the road" & he said " no problem, Take your time.... I'm in no hurry"
I went to get my car & the Customer & a small group of guy's walked outside... I guess to watch me pull my car around.
She fired right-up the second I hit the key, Still warm from lunch. & I was told the guy Jumped and said "What the hell is that???" (My open sidepipes & lopy cam are a little LOUD!)
I pulled in the shop & had the hood open by the time he got to my car... His only comment was "That's not a Corvette engine" I informed him it was a more modern Corvette engine ...... The guy's I work with started telling him what all I had done ..... He looked at his watch, And claimed he was running late & told me "mabey next time"
I'd call that a kill!!!! & she's not even broke in yet!!!!

Guy's.... Don't get me wrong!!!! I do NOT street race (this is private property!!) & I know there is ALOT faster cars than mine!!!! ... Just a funny story!!!!
