I have an 80 with the factory 350 engine slightly modified for a bit more go (Edelbrcck Intake, Mild Crane Cam, 3:55 rear), but still very streetable. The exhaust consists of the factory exhaust manifolds going into two cats (seperate) and then into flowmaster mufflers. Its not as bad as some cars that I hear, but its just to loud for me. I know I'm being a little whimpy, but I'm starting to drive the car a lot more and as a daily driver loud can get old fast.
I am looking for some pretty quiet mufflers that arent quite as restrictive as the factory ones and dont cost a fortune. Any info on what other owner have used would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Walkers are the best of both worlds. Great for HP cars and they do not sound like those overated rattling grapefruit cans so ever apparent stuck on Mustangs and Camaros.
I've heard good things about the Quiet Flow, I believe that's a Walker. Not sure how quiet you're thinking, but Magnaflows are pretty quiet...for a performance muffler.
I've got a pair of mufflers for a '70 350/350. These are new in the box, never installed. Would accept a reasonable offer plus shipping from Orange Co., CA
Walker quietflows live up to their name. A little boring sounding, but quiet. I'm currently running Borlas and like them. Almost as quiet as the walkers, but more aggressive tone.
Thanks for the info. I am looking to go pretty quite, (old age is creeping in), so I think I'll take a look at the Walker quietflows. Seems a couple of people have used them and are pretty happy.
