I finally got my 5 port washer my 70 should have. I have not really looked at how to install it yet. Does anyone know what is involved? Does the distibutor have to be pulled? Or can you just take off the shielding to gain access. Thanks for the help.
It is the windshield washer pump that is on the wiper motor. In 70 and early 71 they had a pump head with 5 ports. One brought the fluid up to the pump. One went to each of the wipers and one went to each of the headlight washers. That adds up to five ports.

Wish I could help you out on this one. My car has been relieved of its 5 port long before me. I can't even make the one I have work at this point. Hope you get it figured out.

You can R&R the wiper motor without pulling the distributor. The shielding will have to come off if you want to pull the wiper motor / washer pump assembly as one and you MAY have to remove the distributor cap in that case but if all you want to do is replace the washer pump you can R&R the pump without pulling the ignition shielding.
There's been some good messages and photos lately about the 1969 5 port wiper washers in this forum. I haven't seen any 1970's though and I think they're different from the 1970. Maybe try the National Corvette Restorers Society at NCRS.ORG.
Now I did this twice once with a five port and once with a three.
I belive I did not have to pull the dist. You have to make sure the wipers and pump are parked first. Then remove the wires and hoses to the pump, remove the black cover over the pump. There should be four or so small screws on the outer rim of the pump motor. Remove them then you can seperate the pump from the wipers. Now you can work on the pump by itself and reinstall it . When you reinstall it thats were it gets sticky because it has to line up right with the drive of the wipers.
PS you might have to use a set of small set of ignition wrench.
