Been awhile since I posted. Been too busy driving my baby since I finally got her all put back together. I am needing to replace the left hand corner chrome windshield molding. I have tried all the usuall places but this part seems to be very difficult to locate. Appearantly the folks making this stuff discontinued. Any ideas would be great appreciated.

I don't know if there is a difference, but I replaced mine when I got it painted last earlier this year. I bought mine from The Last Detail. Do a google search for them and add the word corvette in the search. I bought mine from James. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for.
are you talking about the header molding or the upper fender molding. If header molding, I have been told you will need to remove the windshield to replace. If youare speaking of the fender molding I purchased mine from corvette central fro 20.00 each , they are repos.
Good luck
I bought some new pieces last year. Corvette Central, Volunteer, and Zip are sponsors, I would suggest trying them first. Hopefully you can find some NOS (made by GM or GM Restoration). Some of the repro stuff just doens't measure up.
I installed new pieces on my 68 Convertible back in the early 1980's. They're pitted again and I'd like to install my new pieces, but you have to remove the windshield glass to mount them!
If someone is repro'ing these things I wish they'd repro them in chrome plated brass rather than chrome plated pot metal. It'd only cost a few dollars more - a few dollars I'd be happy to pay for. I think the chrome plated brass would be a lot more durable than the pot metal.

You don't need to remove the windshield. Replaced both on my 69 several years ago. Take off the mouldings. As I recall, there are several screws to be removed. Mine were caked with "dum dum" sealant. Pulled them out....put the new one's in. Chuck
