I think the parts contrail has quoted from corvette central are what you are looking for. Just going from memory they sell a 17" Zo6 looking wheel that is a direct bolt on for the C3's. Really nice looking wheel for about 1350.00 for a set of 4. Would love to see a set on a C3. Be sure to post pictures if you go that route.
i was worried about the adaptors. i still think they would look sooo good. i am with you though, i lack the knowledge. i wish somebody would get smart and make a c5 look-a-like wheel, but built to fit a c3 directly. somebody could make sooo much money. but no we are stuck spending thousands of dollars for something that may still not look or function quite right. it doesn't make sense.

As I posted about these were the Z06 Motorsport Wheels; basically they took the Z06 Wheel, slapped an allen-head screw pattern around it to give it that 2 peice look, then chromed them. However Corvette central no longer carries them for the reasons I specified above. Maybe if we track down a pair the fronts could fit with a small adapter? Who knows. I imagine the company that made them would fix their problem and put them back up for sale...

I have the pictures on my computer just don't know how to post them on here. but i got to looking and the car on the letterhead on the top of the corvette forum page, has the wheels i want.
does anyone know of any corvette junkyards that i might be able to piece together a set of C5 wheels for cheaper than just buying a new set for like 1300 dollars?
i want some that are directly bolt on for my race car. i dont want any more where caused by the spacers. do you know of any? they dont have to be c5 wheels .i have 17 inch c5 wheels sitting in my shop already that i can use if there arent any direct bolt on ones.

I want to make my '79 into an autocross/drag car, but definately still streetable. I haven't been able to find any except a guy put American Racing TT's I think is what they were on his car. He has a couple of posts. He said they bolt right up, but other than that there are a few. I just think that the C5 wheel would look awesome. You said the spaces cause wear. On what? Where did you get your C5 wheels and how much and where did you get your spacers and how much?
I made a thread yesterday (think it fell though) about the wheels I was talking about. You need offset trailing arms and 1/4" spacers. With this small of a spacer it is almost negligable on bearing stress and any other worries. They dont even make adapters that small so clearly there isn't much concern.

If they don't make adaptors this small then how am I going to fit my C5 wheels on my '79? I do not understand.
With spacers. You can lookup countless threads of adapters VS spacers. Spacers are bascially a piece of metal that sits between the spindle and the wheel. This can be dangerous because you lose threads on your lug nuts and may have to retorque the wheels every so often to make sure. If big enough the push the wheel out far enough to where they may stress the bearings. Adapters however are spacers with their own threads of the same length. So you're spacing it out but not compromising and security. However, they don't make adapters that small because the risk with a 1/4" spacer is little to none. Adapters are more expensive as well, 1/4" spacers are dirt cheap.
