I've got some overspray on my seats not specks but paint, seats are brand new it's like a real faint paint the painter wiped it down with something but it's still there any ideas?
I did and he did but I can still see it, I guess I can make a big production about it, why can't things be right in the world without everybody being a screwup .ohwell nobodys perfect!

There is really no excuse for the painter's negligence in this matter. He should pay for new upholstery on the seats, if that's all that's wrong with them. It would be a different story if the upholstery needed to be replaced before the paint job.
To answer your question, I might try some laquer thinner, but it may attack the vinyl on the seats as well and maybe make them look even worse. You could also try a product called "goof off" available at most hardware/home center stores. Again, try a small hidden area first to make sure it doesn't attack the vinyl.
Try to find an autobody paint supplier in your area and get a tube of "Paintbuster" by 3M. It's been a little while since I've painted but I remember this worked great for removing paint (even urethane B/C) from hands. I would try a small dab on a clean soft (white - unless the paint is white also) cloth and gently rub the overspray area. If you see color on the rag, it's coming off. Once the paint is gone, use interior protectant of your choice. Your painter probably tried lacquer thinner & just smeared the overspray around. This is a hand cleaner, so it's non-abrasive, and it's a cream so it won't soak into the upholstery like a liquid chemical. BTW, I would consider finding a painter who takes a bit more pride in his work...

Not the answer I was hoping for. The suggestions above might work, but i'd suggest testing the cleaners on a hidden spot like under the seat to see if it disolves the vinyl. I don't know of any effective paint removers that are safe on these.
I had yellow overspray all over my black interior. After going to a cleaning seminar at a vette show I tried a clay bar and it worked great.
I dont know if it will work on seats but might be worth a try.
Another option is lacquer thinner, but try it on an area of the seat that is not visible to make sure that it won't disolve the vinyl. I've found lacquer thinner is great at cleaning up most kinds of paints but you have to be careful as it will disolve many plastics as well. Acetone is another option but take same precautions. Acetone is a major constituent of lacquer thinner.
